Week 7 of Post

As of today, I have a pretty solid rough cut of my documentary, A Heart to Change, completed. It is approximately 12 minutes long, but I am predicting that once we add in “breathing room” for the viewer and credits the length will probably be around 14 minutes.

Most of our b-roll is completed, but I am going to work on a few more shoots this week, including some still photographs which can be cut together into a stop motion sequence. I had a b-roll shoot today with Professor Chad Lane, our featured scientist, and I am planning on putting that into the doc this Saturday at our next editing session. I plan to shoot footage of the other bible verse tomorrow, as well as birds in flight and possibly the still photographs at the beach of litter being cleaned up to also edit in this Saturday.

Right now my goal is to have the rough cut completed by Monday, March 3rd, so we can begin color correction and the sound design of the film. My self-imposed deadline is March 31st because that is the last day for postmarked submissions for the Academy of Motion Pictures Student Academy Awards. I plan to spend April focused on Marketing and Distribution, so we can hopefully get this film seen.
